本作は、1994年と1995年に登場し、
FPSジャンルの新たな地平を切り開いた
『Heretic』と『Hexen』
を強化版として再リリースした作品です。
改良された「DOOM」エンジンを用い、
上下方向の照準や所持品システム、
個性的なクラス制など、
後のFPSに影響を与えた
画期的な要素を備えています。
今回のリマスター版では、
オンラインクロスプラットフォームや、
ローカル画面分割のデスマッチ、
CO-OPモードが追加されています。
